Dhiraagu appointed telecom partner of 3R forum which begins tomorrow
Maldives telecommunications company Dhiraagu has been appointed as the telecom partner of the Sixth Regional 3R Forum in Asia and the Pacific to be held in Maldives for the first time and which starts tomorrow.
The forum is a collaboration between the Government of Japan and the United Nations Centre for Regional Development (UNCRD) and will conclude on Wednesday. Maldives’ Ministry of Tourism and Ministry of Environment and Energy are coordinating the event.
The forum will be conducted at Dharubaaruge, Maldives’ international convention center in the federal capital Male’ and will be participated by 141 delegates from 33 countries including Cabinet Ministers from eight countries.
At a ceremony held at Dhiraagu’s headquarters in Male’ last Saturday, the agreement was signed by Dhiraagu’s Chief Executive Ismail Rasheed while Minister Thoriq Ibrahim signed on behalf of the Environment Ministry.
Thoriq told the ceremony that Dhiraagu coming on board for such a high profile forum will prove to be of great strength for the forum. He said that he hoped that in future more companies of Maldives will partner up with the forum for its progress.
Rasheed assured Dhiraagu’s full efforts to make the forum reach its highest potential and make it the best international conference held in Maldives so far.
The forum will discuss climate change and waste management on an international level.
