Kuda Rikilu on Tuesday was kicked out of the Baa Atoll Football Challenge – organized by atoll capital Eydhafushi’s U Sports – for experiencing a second defeat, at the hands of Goidhoo.

Played at Eydhafushi’s official stadium, Goidhoo won 3-1, with the first lead by the latter, when Adam “Kithunaa” Nizam found home in the 12 minute.

Both teams performed well, and Kuda Rikilu’s goalie made some awesome saves.

The first half ended with the 1-0 lead for Goidhoo but the team’s Ishan “Sattu” Ibrahim found the net 15 minutes before the match’s end.

However, it was one minute later Kuda Rikilu scored, when Hussain Hannaan shot over the head of Goidhoo’s keeper.

Goidhoo’s third goal came in extra time – by Hussain Shaam.

Goidhoo is now top of their group on goals, as Fehendhoo also has 3 points. The second face-off between the two teams is expected to be a real kicker as it will decide who goes to the semi finals as top of Group B.

Eydhafushi faces Kihaadhoo again on Wednesday – at 1550 hours – to decide who tops group A; the two teams are already in the semi finals due to a late withdrawal from the tournament by Maalhos. Their first match on Monday was won 4-0 by Eydhafushi.
