The deadline for participation is till the end of this month.

The association said that the championship’s aim is to pave way for aspiring women volleyballers of Baa atoll to participate in a tournament.

The tournament is also aimed at improving health, volleyball skills and fraternity.

This is the second year that MAARES is holding the event.

MAARES noted that though not many teams participated last year, the tournament was sensational, and showcased exceptional talent.

“We are hopeful to have more teams this year,” a MAARES official said.

The champion team is offered a cash prize of MVR 10,000 (USD 648).

Last year, Dharavandhoo island won the championship after winning over Maalhos. The other team to participate was Kamadhoo.
